Eggs Benedict, ideal for lunch or brunch!


 

Generally accepted as an American dish, Eggs Benedict is a simple dish using poached eggs, English muffin, bacon or ham and hollandaise sauce.

1860s, New Your City, USA:  Credit for Eggs Benedict is given to Delmonico’s Restaurant, the very first restaurant ever opened in the United States. A regular customer of the restaurant, Mrs. Le Grand Benedict, finding nothing to her liking and wanting something new to eat for lunch, discussed this with Delmonico’s Chef Charles Ranhofer. Charles came up with Eggs Benedict to satisfy Mrs. Benedict!
